about us
FlyStanwell, formerly known as the Stanwell Park Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club (SPHGPC), is one of Australia’s premier flying sites. This club is fast approaching its 50th anniversary.
It’s primary launch site is the historic ‘Bald Hill’ situated 600ft above Stanwell Park Beach. This PG4 / HG intermediate rated site can still cater for pilots of all abilities as they generally have a lot of support on hand if it’s at all flyable. FlyStanwell foster an atmosphere of safety, encouragement and enjoyment.
In Stanwell Park they have an unrivalled history stretching back to some of the first ever experiments in flight done by Lawrence Hargrave in the late 19th Century. Today, as then, members have the privilege of flying this beautiful stretch of the coastline between Sydney and Wollongong.
Their launch takes anything from a South, South Westerly to Easterly, with South Easterly being best conditions. Be sure to check out their exclusive Holfuy Weather station for an up to date report on current conditions.
To experience a tandem flight in either Paragliding or Hang Gliding check out the Learn section of their website.
For fresh content and pics be sure to check out their Instagram page @flystanwell or their Facebook Group. For any upcoming events check out their Events page.
