NSWHPA Visiting Pilot Agreement & Site Access / Maintenance Funding
The NSW Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association is a non-profit volunteer sporting organisation providing support to all affiliated NSW Hang Gliding, Paragliding and Weight Shift Microlight Clubs. This also encompasses other forms of flying such as motorised Hang Gliding and powered Paragliding. The NSWHPA is the affiliated Regional Association of the Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA formerly HGFA).
This document details how the NSWHPA provides assistance to NSW Clubs for Site Access, Maintenance and NSW Visiting Pilots. This key initiative that NSWHPA achieved was the establishment of the NSW Visiting Pilot Agreement in 2011, between NSWHPA and the NSW Clubs.
In essence, if a pilot was a financial Club Member of an NSW Club the pilot was able to fly for no additional membership cost at any other NSW Club site. In return, NSW Clubs were then able to apply for financial support from NSWHPA to assist with the costs associated with site access and maintenance.
In more recent times NSWHPA has further expanded support to Clubs and ultimately onto pilots through the implementation of Pilot training and Endorsement subsidies, Competition support, club management funding and a number of other financial assistance initiatives.
